London Packaging Week Welcomes Pentawards

London’s vibrant new home for packaging professionals, London Packaging Week, will welcome Pentawards, the global platform and community for packaging design, allowing visitors to discover world-class concepts and learn from design pioneers.

On the first day of the event, which takes place on 21 and 22 September at London Olympia, Pentawards will deliver six exclusive Capital of Design Sessions across its three seminar stages. These sessions will use examples of award-winning packaging concepts to illustrate how attention to detail can power packaging to capture the market.

On the Food & FMCG Future Makers Stage Becky Stones, Creative Director at Good by Design, will deliver a session on closing the loop on packaging waste. Here, she will discuss how to build a brand that incorporates sustainable practices from the very beginning by taking a circular approach to packaging design prioritising restorative and regenerative materials.

The Luxury Unboxed Stage will welcome Craig Barnes, Creative Director at Elmwood, who will share his insights on building luxury brands that people truly care about with a session titled ‘The Architect, The Artist, and The Activist’.

Also speaking will be James Melia, Founder of Blond. James will use his design experience to address the often unknowing greenwashing currently happening in the packaging space and look at how to avoid this in the future on the Beauty & Drinks Innovators Stage.

Alongside six exclusive sessions, Pentawards will showcase 10 award-winning packaging designs from its 2022 competition at the Pentawards Gallery. Here, world-leading design concepts will inspire visitors and provide them with insight on creating their own eye-catching packaging solutions.

Also taking place in London, Pentawards will host its first-ever in person Pentawards Festival. This will culminate on the Gala Ceremony on 23 September at the Royal Opera House, where this year’s Pentawards competition winners will be announced, as the perfect end to the first ever London Packaging Week.

Josh Brooks, Marketing and Community Director for Easyfairs’ Packaging Events, comments: “Pentawards is an incredible celebration of global packaging design excellence. With such a key focus on luxury and premium packaging at London Packaging Week, it’s a perfect opportunity to collaborate with Pentawards to inspire our visitors even more.”
