Quadpack’s complete wooden beauty packaging collection, entirely devoid of plastic, has purportedly grown to encompass a fully mono-material assortment, with the goal of providing a sustainable solution for the personal care and cosmetics sectors.

Quadpack has expanded its Woodacity beauty packaging collection, offering a fully mono-material range that prioritizes sustainability for the personal care and cosmetics sectors. Initially launched in 2021, the Woodacity range featured closure systems made from sustainably sourced wood for fragrance packs. Now, it encompasses easily dismantlable, refillable packaging options, including caps for monolayer or aluminium tubes and bottles with standard 24/410 necks.

Notable additions to the range include the refillable Idol Woodacity Solo Twist Compact, designed with a wooden casing and a twist system suitable for both left and right-handed consumers. The Woodacity Glass & Wood line incorporates wooden caps onto Quadpack’s Crystal Chorus jars and Skin-Up bottles with pumps.

Quadpack emphasizes the sustainability of its products, sourcing wood from sustainably managed European forests and offering optional PEFC or FSC certification. These items are designed, produced, assembled, and decorated at the Quadpack Wood factory in Spain, which claims to utilize renewable energy sources and a biomass boiler that uses production scrap for temperature control and wood drying.

The Woodacity components boast unique grain patterns, and brands can further enhance them with options like laser engraving, charring, layering, gold leaf appliqué, and other decorative elements. Quadpack also has plans to develop new finishes for additional aesthetic modifications. Denisa Stircea, category lead at Quadpack, expressed pride in their Woodacity collection and its sustainability efforts, saying, “We are very proud to have built a collection of Woodacity solutions for almost every packaging need over the past two years,”

“Part of the motivation to create Woodacity was to optimise the end-of-life solution for wood as best as we could – and that is exactly what we have achieved. Woodacity is all-natural, non-toxic and looks 100% premium – it’s impossible not to fall in love with it! Plus, our original caps remain the best technology available for full-wood closure systems.”

This commitment to sustainable packaging extends beyond Quadpack, with companies like The Body Shop collaborating to create recyclable, glue-free caps from ash wood and cork for their Full Flowers perfume range. Additionally, Holmen Iggesund and Yangi are working on producing biobased and renewable materials for the beauty and cosmetics industry to phase out rigid plastics in refills, inserts, and testers.

In summary, Quadpack’s Woodacity range has evolved to offer a comprehensive mono-material solution for sustainable beauty packaging. The company’s dedication to responsible sourcing and production aligns with the growing trend towards eco-friendly packaging in the cosmetics industry.
