Global skincare giant Nivea has revealed an exciting collaboration with NaviLens, aimed at providing assistance to blind or partially sighted customers.

NaviLens, through its free app, empowers smartphones to scan and interpret information encoded in its codes, delivering the details audibly and in clear, large text. This innovative technology proves invaluable for users, offering access to vital product information such as location, ingredients, and usage instructions.

Setting itself apart, NaviLens Accessible QR Codes boast an impressive range, detecting information over 12 times the distance of regular QR codes, at extreme angles and in various light conditions.

Nivea has committed to integrating this technology into 90% of its Gift Packs in the UK until the end of December. These packs will be available at major retailers, including Boots and Superdrug.

Paul Price, the general manager of Northern Europe at Beiersdorf (Nivea owner), expressed delight in partnering with NaviLens. He acknowledged the challenges faced by visually impaired consumers during the festive season, citing the sensory overload in busy stores. Price hopes that NaviLens technology will enhance the shopping experience, allowing people across the country to easily locate, understand, and enjoy Nivea products this holiday season.

Javier Pita, the founder and CEO of NaviLens, praised Nivea’s commitment to inclusion during holiday celebrations. He highlighted the integration of NaviLens accessible technology into Nivea’s packaging, ensuring independent access for visually impaired individuals to gift sets.

Visually impaired influencer Claire Sisk, popularly known as canseecantsee, lauded Nivea’s embrace of technology to support blind and visually impaired customers. She expressed excitement about the partnership’s potential impact on people across the country, making Nivea’s diverse range of gifts more accessible and enjoyable this festive season.
