The new Loads of Cleaning Power Bio whites and Bio 2 in 1 packs takes full advantage of Spectra’s custom tooling expertise with a distinctive 630ml bottle design that includes a useful visistrip that enables consumers to see at a glance how much product is in the bottle.

Extrusion Blow Moulded in 50% Post-Consumer Recycled (PCR) HDPE for an environmental solution, the ergonomic bottles were manufactured at Spectra’s state-of-the-art UK facility. The new containers also feature an inner closer and an overcap, which doubles as a detergent measuring cap, designed by Spectra’s dedicated in-house design and tooling experts.

Alex Beveridge, Field Sales Representative, said: “This unique customised bottle perfectly illustrates our in-house tooling capabilities and shows the versatile benefits of the Extrusion Blow Moulding process”.

Indeed, Extrusion Blow Moulding (EBM) provides an excellent option for bottle packaging for a number of reasons.

For example, the process enables complex shapes with sharp contours and offers good resistance to water vapour and excellent resistance to alcohol, acids and alkalis. EBM also allows the added flexibility to interchange necks without having to replace the entire mould each time for cost-effective moulding solution.

Alex went on to add, “As well as its numerous moulding benefits, EBM enables the use of High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE) materials, one of the most common resins used in the process and easily recyclable. For these new packs, 50% PCR materials were used to reinforce M&S’s desire to show their consumers they care about the environmental impact of their packaging”.
