Description

The structural design skills and manufacturing expertise of the Pollard Group have
been instrumental in the creation of a series of high quality and durable gift boxes for
leading French male grooming specialist Monsieur BARBIER.

Monsieur BARBIER’s aim is to provide a brand new shaving experience through a
variety of innovative, premium but value-for-money products. Its boxes are designed
to create a distinctive gift through the combination of different products, including
pre-shaving lotion, badgers, razors, shaving creams and soaps. The company also
produces a number of exclusive boxes for leading retailers.

The selection of the right packaging supplier was crucial, as Ganaël Bascoul of
Monsieur BARBIER explains: “The box needed to convey the special shaving experience
we offer to our customers. It had to look good and be well presented on-shelf as well as
being strong enough to protect the products and easy to handle for the consumer.”

The experts at Pollards were able to translate Monsieur BARBIER’s outline concept
of a small suitcase design into a workable initial prototype. From this, fine-tuning
was carried out to create a stylish and eye-catching box with a carry handle that
could be cost-effectively manufactured.

The box is produced in 380gsm Zenith Hi Brite board, and four colour litho printed
and matt laminated in three different designs. It is die cut and glued using Pollards’
in-line gluer.

“We have lots of packaging ideas within Monsieur BARBIER, but no packaging
experts on our team,” says Ganaël Bascoul. “Pollards was able to convert our ideas
into finished packs that have enabled us really to stand out in this competitive
market.

“Equally important, Pollards offers value-for-money and this is essential for our
company, because at Monsieur BARBIER we want to make a high quality shaving
experience affordable to as many men as possible, so the packaging has to be fully
part of this value proposition.”
